Greek Summer Fest

Summer Greek Festival   One of several summer festivals in Vancouver is Greek Summer Festival, not to mention Greek Day (June 22nd). I was out of town for that event. However, I made sure I would attend the festival.
Needless to say, this festival is popular. I was there at almost 10:00 p.m. and yet there were a lot of people in the festival.
In my case, I am there for the food. And, what dish is more often associated to Greek cuisine? To me it is roasted lamb, despite every other culture also cook lamb. Here, it is the lamb dish ($14.00), which is served with rice, horiatiki (“Greek” salad), tzatziki and bread. No picture of the bread – it was just a slice of baguette. It might be expensive; however, it was delicious!
For dessert, I had bougatsa, custard wrapped in filo, sprinkled with icing sugar. It was sweet but not too sweet. Yummm!

While I was eating my dinner, I checked the main stand. I think Greeks really know how to throw a party and enjoy themselves.

Greek Summer Fest last day is July 6th. If you don’t want to cook this weekend, I highly recommend you drop by. Not only the food is great, but the ambiance itself is great.
