Raincoast Crisps
For a change, a post about snack…
English can be a really funny language. Nouns like crisps, pudding, et al, have different meanings depending on which side of the pond you are. Hmmmm….
I might have seen Raincoast Crisps in the past; the first time it actually caught my attention was in my trip to Kelowna. For some unknown reason, I did not purchase a pack while I was there; instead, when I saw them in a local shop, I did not hesitate to grab one (or two in this case! $6 each).

It was not until I looked closely at the box that I realized this was produced locally here in BC! As seen in the picture above, the company is Lesley Stowe Fine Food.

So how was it? The answer will be “depends”… Out of the two, the original one was… too basic (for the lack of a better word/phrase); however, the rosemary/raisin/pecan (RRP, for short here) was really good! While the original one did not have anything distinct, the RRP had an interesting balance of sweet and crunchy. In fact, they should have borrowed Pringle’s catchphrase: “Once you pop, you can’t stop”! Needless to say, I will get some more, though next time, I will try to get the other flavours, Cranberry Hazelnut and Fig and Olive. And, of course, rather than eating them straight, get some cheeses to go along! ^_^
