Candace, welcome! Unfortunately, my experience was any but what you described… Then again, it has been almost a year. Does that mean I should give it a try again? Hmmmmm…..

Too bad you had a bad experience, but it wasn’t a good example of their normal product. We eat at Asakusa all the time, both eat-in and take-out and are always really happy with their sushi. It’s always fresh and very tasty. We’ve tried many other sushi restaurants around and Asakusa is the best.

I don’t know what you guys smoke but Asakusa makes one of the best sushi around. I never order combos or whatever stuff you described. Just try their tuna sushimi or maki. I stopped going to many other sushi places after visiting Asakusa just once.

shokutsu, I did adjust the highlight lightly; however, even without those adjustments, the gomae was still “white and creamy”, as you mentioned. Will I stop doing these sushi runs? May be, may be not. Somebody has to go and find out if they are good or bad, right? And considering you, foodosopher and the rest of the Foodosophy gang have taken your share of bullets, one or two shouldn’t kill me…

I’ve stopped doing these random sushi stops as so many are so bad. The gomae here looks horrid – not sure if its the highlight and slight overexposure of your shot, but its looks too “white and creamy” to me.

Pearl, no need to feel sorry… Sometimes I just have to take the bullet! I have not thought too much about contacting the owners about this but, if they are savy enough, they should easily be able to check what is written about them without me having (or other bloggers) notifying them. Still, I will have to consider that. Thanks!

oh ew – i’m so sorry that the sushi wasn’t good. have you ever considered sending the link to your blog and all suggestions over on to the restaurant? they might be more careful of the food they send out then.
