Vancouver, BC
Fratelli Bakery on Urbanspoon

After my lunch in Tony’s Deli, as written in yesterday’s post, I went to one of my favourite bakeries in Vancouver. Without further ado… Fratelli Bakery!

And guess what is next to it? One of my favourite sandwich spots, La Grotta del Formaggio!

It is really difficult to describe/explain why or how much I like this place. In a way, it is akin to a child walking to a candy store. This time, this is what I got.

For some odd reason, this time they were not as good as I had in other times. However, I suspect it was because they were slightly “frozen” and did not finish thawing completely. The previous times I been here, I did not eat them right away, rather, I took them home or take them to work. Still, I enjoyed both of them and will certainly be back! ^_^

Love the pastries there. I see you like your Italian pastries…if you don’t mind getting a tip…also try Italia Bakery on Hastings St near Renfrew. Great cannoli.

fmed, I won’t say I “love” pastries. Rather, the few times I have them, I try to make sure they are really good, hehehehe. Thanks for the tip. Will give it a try soon!

Oops…I tend to drop my pronouns…I meant: “_I_ love the pastries there.”

Oh I would love to try Fratelli! That cheesecake seems really delectable. I am actually searching for the best cheesecake in town for my little sister’s birthday. If I ever have a chance to make a visit to Commercial Drive, I will most definitely try Fratelli :)

Rachel, welcome! Wow, cheesecake… That is an interesting challenge! Not sure if I would be able to make such comparison with Fratelli’s as that piece was a petit four piece. But, again, since it is a small piece, you can give it a try before you buy a big one! ;)
