I have mentioned a couple of instances I have worked in the food industry. Of course, that was long time ago, not to mention in a different country. However, regardless of where, some aspects of the restaurant’s life are not that different. A local newspaper, The Georgia Straight, has a report called Secrets of the Food Biz, where they interview chefs, managers and owners about what their business. I will highly recommend everybody check it!

I actually think the price of food in the GVRD is quite reasonable compared to other cities that I’ve visited. Of course operating costs come into play, but Vancouver is affordable eating. Also, we are blessed with such a diverse array of places to eat too. I think that some restaurants here are definitely undercharging. Good for us I suppose. Thanks for the article!
