This is part one of two of my intro post for trip two weeks ago. For part two, see below or click here. Since this is a two part thread, for consistency purposes, I have disabled comments for this post. Instead, for comments, please, do so in part two!
In yesterday’s post, I mentioned I was on a trip, in fact, I even included some previews. What? There was something else aside of the airplane food? Yes! Click here to see the post again and, most probably, you might want to scroll down, hehehe. But, again, I did not mention where. So, first, a picture of where…

This is part two of two of my intro post for trip two weeks ago. For part one, see above or click here.
The title of the post makes reference to one of Panama’s nicknames. It translates to:
Panama, Bridge of the World
Heart of the Universe!
This is usually in reference to the Panama Canal which is used for transit between Atlantic/Caribbean and the Pacific.
In my previous post, I made some intro about Panama. Needless to say, some of my points are biased. However, for this post, I will try to write some notes more related to what this blog is about… Being lazy… Oh, wait… Food! ^_^
But, before that, a snapshot of a street of Panama on a weekend.

About two weeks ago, I mentioned I would have limited Internet access for a week or so – Yes, I was travelling, again. When I arrived at my destination, I found out I did have access. Oh, well… So, I quickly removed that sticky post and the rest is history. Why do I bring this up?
In the past, I have blogged about the food eaten during my flights and this time won’t be any different. Almost, that is… The difference this time? Previously I have flown mostly Air Canada and United (which code share their flights). However, this time, my destination required me to fly Continental and they serve food… For free! (However, compared to Air Canada, their entertainment system sucks). So, here it is, the infamous airplane food…

I have mentioned previously I seldom write posts on Chinese restaurants simply because to appreciate one, you must visit it in a large group. In a really odd twist, I was in the International Village, near Vancouver Downtown and was starting to get hungry. I could have gone to the food court in the mall but nah. Likewise, I could have gone to the nearby Costco and have some hot dogs or pizzas or whatever is sold in their food court area. But, no, instead, I waited to see other options and that’s how I ended up in East Fusion Food. While the name hints at Eastern food, if it wasn’t for my initial remark, that could have meant Indian, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc. So, let’s try again, this is a mostly Chinese restaurant.

To all my Canadian readers (or anybody who has spent considerable time in Canada), there is nothing for you today – sorry about that, see you tomorrow…. ^_^;;; (Of course, you could still read it, just caveat emptor!). As for the rest of the world, my apologies. In the past, I have made references to Tim Hortons, but I did not elaborate. That’s because I made the (wrong) assumption everybody ought to know what Timmy is about. I guess I should have known… So, for today, an overview of this Canadian icon.

Feel free to consider it a confession: I am geeky and nerdy in more than one way. Back in high school, I focused myself in science courses (in my school, when you get to the equivalent here of grade 10, instead of random courses, you choose, between Accounting, Liberal Arts or Science). Yup, I had biology, physics, calculus and chemistry among other classes. So, it really surprised me I haven’t been to Science World (formally, Telus World of Science), a science museum in Vancouver (there are others in Calgary and Edmonton).

(Before you click the link below, caveat emptor, this is a really image heavy post with over 40 pictures, totalling something close to 8MB of images!)

Today’s post, despite it is related to a restaurant, it is rather about a dish. As you could read from the header, that dish is poutine. What is so particular about that combination of fries, cheese curds and gravy? While I am not sure if there is such thing as a true authentic Canadian dish (specially considering the size of Canada), at least, I think we can say poutine is the closest thing to be uniquely Canadian. But, why make a post about poutine? Well, it just happens that, I have never had it…
