We are already in spring and here is my photo essay of VanDusen Botanical Garden and Queen Elizabeth Park. My reason, aside from the obvious spring pictures, is that of cherry blossoms! Before I continue, I must mention I have taken pictures of these two places before. Here and here for VanDusen during the Festival Of Lights and here for a winter day/New Year in Queen Elizabeth Park. So, without further ado…

Snow drops

Unfortunately, this was about the only cherry tree in full bloom… Yes, it was disappointing…

After my disappointing trip to VanDusen, because there weren’t that many blooming trees, I then went to Queen Elizabeth Park, hoping things would be better.

Overall, I was a bit disappointed the trees were not still in full bloom. Some explanations were given in this article. I hope it improves soon…

what a breathtakingly beautiful garden!
I second Pearl’s thoughts and love the last picture. It seems odd at times, with landscapes like above, that people forget about how beautiful our country really is.
Pearl, Raidar, thanks for your comments! I think that it is usually a case of you not knowing what you have until you “lose” it… Or, because I am a transplant, I try to appreciate it a bit more? ^_^;;;
Your pictures are much better than mine.
Did you also take in the Japan Fair during the Cherry Blossom festival? It was a fun time of good eats and cultural exchange.
Holly, welcome! Thanks for your compliments!
There was an event for the Cherry Blossoms in VanDusen; however, I was busy those days and could not go. I ended up going afterwards but, as you could see, it was only pictures, no other events…
