Raidar, depends on the food. If it is a small buffet, it makes no difference if it is a large group or not. You can grab a bit of everything by yourself, hehehehehe. I wish they had lamb, though. Almost all Indian buffets here serve chicken as the main protein (paneer aside, that is). But, my experience with buffets (hahahahaha!) tells me I should focus on seafood, non-usual meats, steaks, chicken, usually in this order. Yup, mostly meats, hehehehe. My co-worker is fine; but there are other reasons I know about her frequent restaurant visits (won't go into details here...)

Sherman, well, considering all the Indian population in Surrey, that would be expected right? I mean, if you were to compare it to Richmond and Chinese food... ^_^ Same as you, I seldom have people tagging along for lunch. That is because (1) I usually go for lunch earlier than others and (2) they have their favourite spots and would rather not venture around (except, most probably on Fridays).

Hi Kim, I have had good Indian buffets and bad Indian buffets. It's a crap shoot really. Luckily for me, there is a plethora of good Indian restaurants out here in North Delta/Surrey for lunch. It's especially good that all of them have great lunch specials that usually have a little of everything. Thus, you are not stuck eating a whole curry by yourself. Hey, consider yourself lucky, I rarely have company when I go for lunch.

One - "going by yourself is somewhat difficult". So very true, and even sometimes with another person. How can we possibly taste the cornucopia without a nice sized group (I would have loved to be in that 10+ group).

Two - "a lot of Indian restaurants in Metro Vancouver is that they are buffet-style. Translation, I will end up overeating" Exactly as it is here. And sometimes I think Indian buffet actually translates to 'we are going to stuff you senseless with cheese, potatoes, naan, chicken and lamb'! A good Indian buffet almost begs to be overdone.

And finally, what a nice coworker. Even better that you were well aware of their repetitive dining options.
