Vancouver Farmer’s Market
Several locations in Metro Vancouver

It is that time of the year again and the farmer’s market are now open in several locations in Vancouver. Jessica of Yum-O-Rama has been blogging about them and this is my post on one of the (hopefully) severals I will be visiting. Today’s post is about East Vancouver’s Farmer’s Market in Trout Lake’s Community Centre. Enjoy this photo essay!

In the trailer, they were selling crêpes. I wanted to get on; however, I did not as I was planning to go (and went) to Wally’s Burger afterwards.

Wait, if I did not have one, how did I get this picture? Call it stock picture! I took this one from my visit last year!

These are heirloom tomatoes. And, oh, the cute little girl, she just happened to look this way when I took the picture. If you know her and you think I should have the picture removed (or at least cropped not to show her), please, drop me an email!

I purchased these dried mushrooms. I couldn’t help myself…

Dried apple. I got some of these as well.

So, here is the question: In addition to the dried apple and mushrooms, what else did I get? Well…

I actually purchased a fourth heirloom tomato, but it got “crushed” on my way back… :(

And this is what I ended up doing with them:

I will have to say that the heirloom tomato was really different from your usual tomatoes. If you haven’t had some before, I highly suggest you give it a try! As for the bread, it is the sourdough from the picture above, hehehehe. Well, I have more of these farmer’s market to go so stay tuned!

Yumm! Dried apples would be very good right now. How many packages did you manage to buy?
