Stanley Park – Spring 2009
It is said that Stanley Park is the Jewel of Vancouver. If you ever come to Vancouver, you should try to visit it. To give you an idea of what you should expect, here is this photo essay, taken last week.

The fountain at Lost Lagoon, at the entrace of Stanley Park on Georgia Street.

Overseeing Canada Place/Vancover Convention Centre.

And the West End.

Inside Stanley Park. Here, an exhibit/sale of drawings.

The gazebo is the bus loop stop where route #19 bus stops to pick up passengers.

Stanley House, a restaurant inside the park.

A picture taken from the rose garden. No pictures of roses, though: there weren’t that many blooming roses… However, there were a lot of bees and butterflies, like the one at the bottom left.

Children’s Playground. Here, water was flowing…

Looking towards North/West Vancouver. The bridge is the Lions Gate Bridge.

Please, do NOT ask…

Again, Lions Gate Bridge, this time, almost below it.

Siwach Rock

Third Beach. Yes, it was packed full!

Yes, those are rocks. And no, they are NOT glued (as far as I know). An artist makes this every day (again, as far as I know; I am sure it should due to the tides.

English Bay. Again, there were a lot of people!

Wow! That is beautiful, I will have to visit there sometime. The picture of you almost below the bridge is stunning! The last picture is also very beautiful. I wish I lived near there, would be quite expensive.
Dave, expensive is a relative concept. ^_^;;;
True, while Vancouver is “expensive”, I am not sure if it is more expensive than most large US cities (keep in mind Metro Vancouver is the third largest “city” in Canada). But, I am sure that most, if not all, of us who live here will believe it is a good place to live.
Wonderful and beautiful at the same time!
Days like today (rain rain and more rain) make me wish for the sunny beach days in your photos. All your shots are beautiful!
