Just like last week, where I ended up with several post on Latin American food/festivals… No, this is not revisit week! Some time ago, I wrote I would revisit places and blog about it again if somebody provides a convincing enough reason for me to do so. In this case, two “arguments” were given from Babylon Cafe and Momo Sushi House. So, without further ado!

During the food bloggers dinner we had last month in Alvin Garden, the topic of other regional cuisines was brought up by Sherman (this was regarding a comment where it “accused” Sherman of visiting way to many Chinese restaurants). At the end of that conversation, Sherman said he should try Latin American and asked me to bring him along next time I went to one such restaurant. Now, rather than going to a place I haven’t been previously, I chose one I have blogged before: El Inka Deli (previous post here). And, tagging along, we had TS of [eatingclub]Vancouver. Would I live to expectations? Pressure is on!

There are some restaurants that, well, are a pain to go by yourself. So, when a colleague who was leaving for lunch asked if I wanted to join him in Coast, I was confused. Wasn’t Coast in Yaletown? Well, it seems it “moved” to its current location in Alberni Street, near Burrard Street, across from Italian Kitchen. Still at walking distance and without meetings later that afternoon, I jumped to the opportunity.

In the last couple of weeks, I have mentioned lunches at work has been a bit crazy, mainly due to tight deadlines. During that period of time, I had to rely on some unusual source of lunches, namely Safeway. I have to admit their soups can be quite good, specially if you get a sourdough “bowl” to go along. In one day I had a bit more of time, I decided to walk a bit farther. But, for some reason, every other place was closed/not open yet for business. Sometimes it sucks when you want to go out for an early lunch… But, Flying Wedge Pizza was open and that worked for me.

A couple of weeks ago, I described a lunch with two former colleagues in the Burrard and Pender’s location of Joey’s and added about we might be going to Cactus Club Cafe which just happened to be across the street from Joey’s. We did end up going there for a meeting; however, it was for after hours rather than for lunch. Is it “sooooo goooood” as my friends claim it to be? What about Rob Feenie’s recipes? I was about to find out, I guess…

First things, first: let me re-assure you: this is NOT Latin-American week, specially considering a place I have planned to visit tomorrow and, hopefully, post on Sunday. No, Sherman, Tiffanie, it is NOT the place you are thinking… But, putting that aside, last week, I was in the Hastings area for some other activities and, since I arrived with time to spare, I decided to have lunch first. Before anybody has any crazy thoughts about Hastings (where the infamous Vancouver Downtown East Side is located), I was near Nanaimo and Hastings, not far from Seri Malaysia is located and I already had in mind one place to visit: El Pulgarcito.
