Celebration of Light, Pride Parade, Christmas Parade, et al... But, in a funny way, when I was living there, the reaction was totally opposite - when these activities took place, I rushed to leave the area knowing it will be extremely busy! :D shokutsu, it is one of those unfortunate side-effects of working in Downtown Vancouver: Almost all these festivities/celebrations take place there.
