Five Guys is the best burger I've ever eaten in my life! The fries are awesome, but they don't look good in the picture, maybe undercooked? Teh fries are usually perfect and they're bottomless, like the drinks. It's all in the topping combination for the burger. The toppings are all free but be careful not to overdo it and make a messy burger with competing flavors. I absolutely love the little cheeseburger (1 patty) with grilled mushrooms, green peppers, raw onions, jalepenos and barbeque sauce...Toppings that enhance the flavor of the burger.

THE BAGS STACKED AROUND THE RESTAURANT ARE NOT FULL OF FRIES. They are full of potatoes that are used to make the fries. Condiments are all free--I'd recommend the A1 sauce.

Kim, I think you may be interested in this: http://www.cspinet.org/nah/articles/xtremeeating2010.html

I'm surprised, too, that Five Guys chose West Vancouver as their first Metro Vancouver location. West Vancouver doesn't strike me as a burger city either...

Oh wow, I was totally unaware of the fact that we had a Five Guys burger right here in Vancouver. I have to agree with you, it's was a pricey burger, but it was good, at least the one I had in Orlando, maybe I will have to visit this one and do a comparison, see if they are consistent with their food/cooking.

too bad about the fries, i actually thought they looked decent. it's trickery though... entirely because the skins are on. for some reason that looks much tastier than without to me. the whole deal seems kind of pricey to me... but i suppose i really can't judge!

The Red Onion is pretty good. The fries are indeed crispy and a very large portion. Kim, venture into Kerrisdale. Maybe get TS to go!

Peter, if there is something out of the ordinary, I would definitely mention it and, if it is indeed above par, chances are I will like it! :)

Kevin, again, if you go in a large group, price per person might go down a little bit due to people sharing the fries. Otherwise, Burger Burger time! :D

raidar, supply and demand; the more we want something, prices will increase. It is the question of where is the breaking point. In this case, Five Guys went above that point. Had it been a couple of $$$ cheaper, it is possible I would have liked it a bit more.

Lotusrapper, you mean Red Onion? It is in my to go list; the problem is that it is in the West Side, an area of Vancouver I don't go that often. I guess I will be going soon! (But, then, there is Nimby in the queue as well).
