Originally, I had scheduled a rant about my perspective of the state of Vancouver food blogs, specially due to some things that have happened lately. However, the content itself was proving a bit too… Incensive and provoking (confirmed by some people whom I have sent a draft version). As a result, I have put that post on hold until further consideration. However, I do have an announcement…
(Update (20110314): This post has been made “sticky”. For the most recent post, please, scroll down or click on next post at the very bottom left of the page).
Due to personal reasons, I will be “closing shop” in the next coming weeks. Once I have flushed my remaining pending posts, including a personal apology to a very dear friend, I will stop blogging. Whether this is permanent or not, I haven’t decided but, as of now, it is leaning towards the former. If I were to start blogging again, chances are it will not be food related. But, who knows, I might do some guest blogging! I am sure some will be curious as to why; alas, sorry, at this point, I would rather not disclose my reasons. What I will say is that it was fun while it lasted and thankful for what I have accomplished at a personal level. So, enjoy those remaining posts!

WHY! I haven’t seen you in ages, let’s eat sometime soon?
Oh no =(
I would love to hear your perspective on Vancouver Food blog. Always makes me curious what peoples thoughts are. Perhaps one day that post will be published.
I’m quite sad by your news, but I just wanted to say I love your honesty in your posts and you’ve taught me a few things about blogging and I appreciate it.
i dont understand why being provocative is a problem……… isn’t that the whole point?
Kim,
I am sad to hear that you are leaving the food blog scene. You are my favourite Vancouver food blog. I wish you all the best. I would love to hear your rant. Both BG and I wish you all the best.

All good things come to an end.
Enjoy life!
We will miss you Kim. Thank you for the almost 3 yrs of good food posts. Wish you all the best. Although its sad to see you leave the food blog scene, I appreciate that you announced your departure unlike other bloggers who just abandoned their blogs.
First I’d like to thank you for your comments on Vancouver’s street food scene. Your concerns of favouritism on the panel and other issues were taken to heart and will be brought up.
Sometimes it’s the little things that people do that impact us and elicit change.
Honestly, I knew nothing about food blogs before Amy and I started street eats. I just knew that I love street food and there was no place for people to go online.
Then I realized (I’m slow sometimes) that I HAD been visiting food blogs in Vancouver since I moved here to find out about great place to eat and disasters to avoid.
While I take every review with a grain of salt, I am a compulsive researcher and pretty much ‘Google’ (is it a real word yet?) every place I patron, before or afterwards, the latter when I have my ‘brave pants’ on.
You mentioned (cryptically) that your reasons may ruffle some feathers.
Ruffle away!
I have enjoyed reading your blogs so much that it is sad to see it go…
“Whether this is permanent or not…” well, I hope it’s the latter! Wish you the best
thanks for all the previous post i enjoyed reading them, sad to see you go but please let us know the reason, know that you have many supporters!
I’m a frequent lurker on your blog, and I, too, enjoy reading your posts. Your blog has been my go to guide for restaurants and reviews since I discovered it a few months ago. I’m sad to hear it’s coming to an end.
sorry to hear this – i have enjoyed reading your posts. take care eh?
Kim. As a stranger that became a friend, I think it’s safe to say you will be missed. All the best in your future. I’m sure we’ll track each other down again one day.
Well, you’ve stuck by your guns the whole time blogging. So kudos to you. No one could ever say you were biased or unethical. That is admirable…
This is really stunning, Kim. Yours was one of the first food blogs I regularly read and gained inspiration from. I’m going to miss your refreshing honesty and great sense of humor. Best of luck with whatever comes next! Hasta pronto!!
The Vancouver food blogging scene can get a bit overwhelming – but your site was one that I always visited. Not only because we work in the same area (thus, you would visit the restaurants I was curious about) but because you never hesitated to try the restaurants most people wouldn’t even look twice at. Whether or not you decide to continue – thank you for your great photos, words, and appetite!
This is really sad to hear as I really enjoyed reading your blog. It was your artistic picture and honest view that motivated me to come back time after time. Best of luck with everything.
Thank you Kim for your friendship and your blog – I know first hand how much work it is, and I can’t believe you posted so frequently and about so many various places.
Best of luck to you with your future projects (I know what you’re up to, and I can guaranty you’ll want a hobby come next Winter!)
Parkerpages would be thrilled to have you guest post anytime
Very sad news, for me anyway. I really enjoyed reading your blog on a daily basis and will definitely miss it. Good luck to you and THANK YOU, KIM.
I loved your blog man! I was looking forward to reading the rant about the other blogs. I know many of them are complete one sided garbage, and the reason I liked your blog is because it was always true! I know some bloggers in Vancouver are hired to write positive reviews and I hate reading those. I say spill your beans dude! Go out with a bang! All your fans are behind you!
OH NOEZ!! Well for what it’s worth, I enjoyed your blog immensely. Best of luck with your future endeavors.
Sorry to hear the news. I wish you the best for whatever you plan to do next.
Cheers
Tana
Its been fun reading your blog and I will miss the honesty in many of your posts and how you never sell out as many other food blogs even one of the most popular one I found has sold out hence I stopped reading, anyhoo I digress, Kim I wish you well in all of your future endeavours!
@sgtoca I hope that comment wasn’t referring to me because if it was, you don’t know the back story to the Foodie Feast. But if it wasn’t directed at me, then it’s all good.
You can’t even trust the dictators at DineHere.ca. If you write a truthful review that is negative it’s almost always erased. That site is a pile of crap. I relied on THIS blog more-so than that useless site.
