It is funny that, while this region is collectively called Metro Vancouver, everything is focused in Vancouver itself, specially the areas I call the “well known” ones, i.e., Downtown, Gastown, Yaletown, Kitsilano and so on. However, we know there are things around if you know where to look. Such was the case some days before the holidays when I was looking for a new camera bag (the old one was pretty beat up) and a local shop had a suitable one. But it wasn’t available in their Vancouver location. Looking at their other ones, I found out their Richmond location had it… But in a really odd colour: green. Nothing wrong with green but too… Flashy? However, I found out their Coquitlam location had it so a drive to Coquitlam was! Of course, it was way after work which meant early night and also meant… Food!!! The interesting thing is that there were several places I wanted to go but could only go to one. There was Matoi Sushi (not sure if related to the Matoi Sushi in Downtown Vancouver), Chada Thai (which is supposed to be a good Thai places, though not certain it would have been a good idea to go by myself) and some Vietnamese restaurants like Pho Huy and Pho 99. However, I wanted something “different” and that ended up being, out of all things, fish and chips in the form of C-Lovers (and that is despite it is a chain with several locations!).

OK, let me reassure you that, despite the name of this post, it is a PG post. Yes, there is a double entendre with the title of this post which is also the name of this restaurant. If you don’t know about that possible other meaning… Well, I won’t explain it (feel free to Google it). So, the question is… Why I was in a restaurant with such a strange, almost risque name? In that case, I will finger point shokutsu of Foodosophy who wrote about this place a couple of weeks ago. And what shokutsu end up getting? Based on that post, I will assume fried chicken!

After that hike in Diez Vistas, DVP couldn’t join me for dinner as she had to attend something unexpected. Alas, me “stranded” in the middle of nowhere and starting to get hungry (despite eating several handfuls of cashews before the last portion of the trail). So, while driving out of Buntzen Lake, I chose to drive through Coquitlam Centre rather than the “easier” route of Port Moody. Why? I have absolutely no idea… Could it be because I came driving that way? When I hit that mall, I remembered there was a Montana’s Cookhouse, as well as Chada Thai, I chose the former for one reason: Meat! I mean, I was darn hungry and all I could think of was meat… NOW!!!

OK, after a small break from Asian, with yesterday post of FatBurger, I am back with Asian again! ^_^;;; Fortunately (?), rather than sticking with only one area/country/region, I have been jumping back and forth. This time, I went for Korean. And, the most interesting part? Rather than a place in Downtown Vancouver or Kingsway, I went to an area of Vancouver I have started to expand: Lougheed, the border between Burnaby and Coquitlam. While Insandong is the most popular one, I dropped by Ddoo Gau Bee instead.
