Another event that is starting to turn into a tradition in Vancouver is Car Free Day. Originally started in Commercial Drive, it has expanded now to include Denman Street, Main Street and Kitsilano. But what is this event? The name might suggests exactly that but, after being in two of these events, it is not only about not driving, but also about community. Enjoy this photo essay!
I originally intended to have this post up for last week Saturday. However, things happened and, well, here it is…
It might be an overstatement at this point but I like to take pictures of trees and flowers. In fact, I think I prefer to take landscape/outdoors to that of people (read: portrait pictures). If somebody would try to hire me to do the later, I will simply refuse. However, in the case of the former, hell, I might do something similar to what Humphrey Bogart’s character did in The Maltese Falcon (take some amount to cover time and expenses). I am digressing here… So, for this post, pictures of trees and flowers in Panama! (Oh, in most cases, I won’t know the name of the tree/flowers… -_-;;;)

We are already in spring and here is my photo essay of VanDusen Botanical Garden and Queen Elizabeth Park. My reason, aside from the obvious spring pictures, is that of cherry blossoms! Before I continue, I must mention I have taken pictures of these two places before. No, I have not ran out of restaurants to write about! Instead, due to timing, I thought it would be a good idea to post it now, considering the expansion to Vancouver Convention Centre (referred to as VCC from here on), held its open house last weekend. Also, considering that I usually do not post on Saturdays, hehehehe…
Today is a holiday in Canada. Since it is spring, rather than a food related post, I would like to take a break and, literally, smell the flowers. Enjoy this photo essay!
